Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 September 2026

selftickr holds financial information, which is among the most sensitive data a person can hand to an app. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or delete it.

Who we are

selftickr (“we”, “us”) operates selftickr.com. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of the personal data described below. Contact: privacy@selftickr.com.

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address, display name, chosen ticker symbol, currency and time zone.
  • Financial data you enter — assets, liabilities, transactions, recurring expenses, savings goals, and the net-worth snapshots derived from them.
  • Waitlist data — your email address, the timestamp of your consent, your IP address and browser user-agent at the moment you consented. The IP and user-agent are retained solely as evidence that consent was given.
  • Technical data — privacy-preserving, cookieless usage analytics (page views and product events). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We do not connect to your bank. Every figure in selftickr is one you typed in yourself, and we never ask for banking credentials.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • Financial data you enter — processed to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), and, where required for this category of data in your jurisdiction, on the basis of your explicit consent given at signup.
  • Marketing and launch emails — your consent, given by ticking the box at signup. You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Security, abuse prevention and fraud detection — our legitimate interest in keeping the service and its users safe.

What is public and what is not

Your data is private by default. Three separate settings control public exposure, and all three are off until you turn them on:

  • Public profile — your /u/[ticker] page resolves for anyone who has the link.
  • Search-engine indexing — search engines may index that page. Off by default even when your profile is public, so sharing a link with one person does not put you in a permanent search cache.
  • Show my absolute figure — your currency amount appears on public surfaces. Off by default; public pages, share cards and leaderboard rows otherwise show only a percentage, a rating and a rank.

Your ledger, transactions, assets, liabilities, goals and the entire Work/invoicing section are never shown publicly under any setting.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not sell or license aggregated net-worth data to third parties. We share data only with the processors needed to run the service — hosting, email delivery, payment processing and privacy-preserving analytics — each bound by a data-processing agreement and permitted to use the data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

  • Account and financial data — for as long as your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Waitlist entries — until you unsubscribe or we launch and migrate you to an account, whichever comes first.
  • Consent records — kept for the period we are required to be able to demonstrate that consent was given.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you have rights to access, correct, export, delete and restrict the processing of your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. Thailand’s PDPA grants equivalent access, portability, objection and erasure rights.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@selftickr.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children

selftickr is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will say so on this page and, where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, by email before it takes effect.
